Banana bread with walnuts

This banana bread recipe makes 1 loaf.

Step 1: In a large bowl cream butter and sugar together. Add one egg at a time, beating till smooth. Add vanilla, sour cream, and mashed bananas; mix well.


Step 2: In second bowl, stir flour with baking soda, baking powder, salt and nuts. Add to banana mixture stirring only to moisten.


Step 3: Pour ingredients into a lightly greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes. Remove from pan and place on cake rack to cool. Wrap to store.

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup walnuts pieces (lightly toasted)
